Analysis of the Working Climate and Social Safety within the Amsterdam Police New South-West Basic Team
Over the past few months, Governance & Integrity (G&I) carried out a thorough analysis of the Working Climate and Social Safety within the Amsterdam Police New South-West Basic Team (Amsterdam Politie Basisteam Nieuw West-Zuid)
G&I on the analysis: “Changing leadership and the absence of a shared vision on how best to operate on the street created the conditions for colleagues to find themselves at odds with one another. The resulting conflict took on an ethnic dimension, albeit unintentionally, despite the fact that everyone shared the same goal: keeping this neighbourhood safe. Analyses of this kind are an important tool for building a police force that is genuinely effective in tackling insecurity, crime and discrimination.”

Our analysis was featured in an article published in Het Parool (or Dutch version: Het Parool).
The police have also issued a press release (available only in Dutch, please use your browser’s translation function to read it in English).
